What is Pollution?


Pollution is the contamination of the environment by man-made waste. Any substance that is produced by man and makes the water, air, land, etc., dirty is called a pollutant and is said to be causing the process of pollution.



Types of Pollution

 
 

Air Pollution

Air pollution is the presence of pollutants in the atmosphere in concentration that is high enough to dangerously affect living organisms.




Land Pollution

Land pollution is the presence of garbage and waste on the  surface of the land. this waste is not degradable and contributes to flooding and unhealthy atmospheres.




Noise Pollution

This is the presence of excessive sound or noise in the environment which is harmful to human and animal health.



Water Pollution

this is when there are chemicals or foreign substances are present in the water. these include sewage, pesticides, chemicals, metals, etc.
